How does acupuncture work?
We know for sure it can regulate brain chemicals and hormones, strengthen the immune system, improve blood circulation and enhance repair of damaged or inflamed tissues. Traditionally it is said to work by stimulating and strengthening energy, supporting normal body function and expelling contaminants.
Both explanations make sense in their own way.
Does it hurt?
Some would like to try acupuncture but hesitate because they assume it will hurt. We use deftly placed hair-fine needles, much finer than those used for injections, any discomfort is so slight that even small children cope with it. We are kind and you remain in control!
You feel only the tiniest pricking sensation followed by an achy-numb feeling. most find this relaxing rather than unpleasant. The sterile disposable needles are left in place for 10 to 30 minutes.
Most say acupuncture makes them feel relaxed & well.
